Community Involvement
Global Edge Recruiting® supports our clients, candidates and community in a variety of ways:
In April and May of 2020, during the challenging time of the Covid-19 pandemic, we have provided help to hundreds of candidates who needed assistance with their resume by offering free resume review services. With over two decades of recruiting experience, we know what it takes to catch the eye of a hiring manager and/or executive team.
In addition, to helping our clients and candidates we also support the local Springfield area and Southwest Missouri community through donations and sponsorships of organizations that our executive team feels can make a strong, positive impact on the community at large.
Our sponsorships and charitable giving currently crosses a gamut of needs including local support for athletics, educational and fine arts efforts. We firmly believe that those in need of assistance throughout our community, whether an organization or individual, should be given a hand up, when the need arises.
Through our past involvement with the Human Society, Habitat For Humanity, The Lion’s Club, The American Cancer Society and The Boys and Girls Town of Missouri, we clearly recognize that encouragement and motivation along with the support of the local community can make a huge difference in the community at large. Our Mascot

Meet “Mr. Patches”
Patches, a seven-year-old dachshund & terrier mix, comes to work every day and is a great buddy to the staff at Global Edge Recruiting. As our company’s mascot we want to recognize his contribution to our business.
Patches began his journey at Global Edge Recruiting as a rescue dog. He was born in Springfield, Missouri, and lived the first two years of his life as an outdoor dog.
In 2011, Patches was left at a rescue shelter to be adopted. The shelter listed Patches as a poodle/terrier mix on its website. Founder, Denise Wilkerson just happened to be looking for a dog but needed to get a poodle due to pet allergies. When Denise saw Patches’ profile online, she was excited to go visit the poodle named Patches.
Denise, along with Randy and their daughter, went to the humane society that day to see Patches. When they arrived at the humane society, they couldn’t find him. There were no poodles, and no dogs with the name of Patches. They decided he must have been adopted, and they would try to find a poodle another time. It must not have been meant to be. But just before they left, Denise’s daughter noticed a dog sitting quietly in the corner. His name tag was flipped up but he had black patches all over his body. When she flipped the name tag down, low and behold… there was Patches from the internet.
Well, as you can tell from the picture, Patches was definitely not a poodle and so Denise was unsure about adopting him. With his long hair, Denise worried about her allergies. After all, this is not the dog she had in mind. However, she quickly gave in as Randy and their daughter fell in love with his gentle spirit. They decided this was the dog they wanted.
Now the story does have a happy ending! It’s been several years since that day, and Patches is still a valuable member of their family and Global Edge Recruiting. He greets members of the staff each morning with a wagging tail and high hopes of getting a treat for doing so. Denise thinks, Patches can be a little bit of of con-artist, maybe even a professional since his online profile was done like a catfish, giving a false breed identity to get adopted.
As for Denise’s allergy to Patches, well she says, “That’s what allergy medicine is for!”
